Custom Data Solutions

Since 2006 we’ve been working with JRC on their company Intranet to help their 58 offices communicate and manage customer and orders among their offices, brokers and drivers.  Previously JRC had been using Access to control day to day operations.  With limited security, high costs of Terminal services for the number of users they needed and other limitations, JRC needed a conversion from Access to ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL.

The new solution, which was built to replace their antiquated systems, combines client relations management with a form of point of sale, reporting, automated email communications, Adobe PDF outputs for load assignment to drivers and accounting output to MAS 200.  Even though their current business model includes an extraordinarily complex set of business rules, Media Infocus was able to build a web enabled system that met their needs and beyond…

In September 2008 the system went online and is in daily use by over 500 employees spread throughout the United States.  The system combines a variety of state-of-the-art web technologies to enable fast order entry and communication, despite the employees geographic location.  Users enter orders and fully customized accounting allocations are calculated in a environment built specifically for JRC.

Just a few highlights:

Easy editing, even off grids and reports.  Practically no back tracking whatsoever.

Real time PDF reporting, plus emailing of attached PDF to Brokers and Drivers.

Order copy, templating and intelligent type conversion – as well as the ability to post orders to any assigned office.

Role based system assigns user to one or multiple offices, plus a variety of update permissions as administration sees fit.

Accounting outputs, with record locking and on-grid entry of data, like customer PO’s or Broker Invoice number

 

Other works for JRC

In 2009 we will be integrating the current system with MAS 500 to automatically connect customer, sales, broker and office accounts entered in MAS 500 with our systems.  This will eliminate the need to re-key information and provide up-to-the-minute information on account updates.

In addition to the Intranet system, we’ve also worked on a tradeshow display and marketing piece for JRC. 

We are currently producing a corporate training video that will greatly help reduce field accidents.  The video will be produced in Spanish and in English.  More on that soon.
