With almost 30 years of heritage, we understood the importance of keeping a part of the original logo within the company, so we had the task of updating the "look", while keeping the heart and soul of the original drawing. Media Infocus Studios of Connecticut hand drew a new character that was ready for this century. The client loved the new logo and tasked us with recreating their website, marketing materials and a trade show booth for networking.
An old website made new
Barlow Pump's website was 10 years old and needed a unique look that set them apart from their competitors.
Around that time, our lead designer had found an inspiration from a video game site. He came across an interesting website idea in an
advertising banner from a new Tom Clancy Game. The banner, which featured the games lead character in an thunderstorm, had very realistic rain and water droplets running down a "camera-lens"
Since it isn't common to run video in headers of websites, we set to the task of creating a very organic looking banner that brought in a sense of purity and nature. The finished concept features ultra realistic water droplets, rain, moving water and even sound effects.
Preparing for the road
The tradeshow booth and marketing materials were produced about 2 years later and had a slightly different look without a complete departure from color and design.
We wanted to create a booth that asked questions and really got people thinking about the quality of their water. The booth features a child drinking a glass of water and poses the question: "What's in your Water?" Combined with other imagery and questions in a very clean layout, the booth did exactly what it was designed to do...get people to stop and argue with Barlow about how good their water really was!
For distribution at trade shows, we selected a very inexpensive glossy stock for their postcard that is high quality yet very affordable to print. These postcards can be handed out and cost less than half of the cost of brochures, while presenting a message immediately. On the back of the postcard, we adhered a water test strip to the card, so visitors can reply with a free-water evaluation.
